If you have even a passing interest in luxury supercars, you’ve likely already heard that Bugatti’s next-gen model has begun production. We’ve already gotten a ton of exciting details and Tourbillion specs, which we covered here a couple months ago.
The official release date is still a while away, but the Tourbillion has already seen some road time, and has even graced the streets of Southern California already for an exclusive event. Read on to see where it’s been so far:
The Tourbillion’s World Tour Thus Far
Fittingly, the Tourbillion’s trip around the globe began right at home. In June the Château Saint Jean in Molsheim, France, hosted an evening of lively and exclusive festivities to celebrate the next step in Bugatti’s evolution.
The event also served to commemorate the marque’s partnership with Rimac, another European sports car manufacturer that specializes in battery electric technology. This new partnership was an essential piece of the puzzle in developing the Tourbillion’s groundbreaking hybrid propulsion system.
Mere weeks after the exclusive event, the Tourbillion finally made its first appearance in America at the revered Monterrey Car Week. Thousands of enthusiasts flocked to the event, which marked the first time that much of the general public was able to peek behind the curtain to really see what the new Bugatti model was made of. Event organizers even included a separate bare Tourbillion chassis alongside the completed model, proving that the next-gen model was completely different from the ground up.
The event also served to highlight Bugatti’s illustrious history. Many models, from the Chiron L’Ultime to the legendary Type 35 (which recently celebrated its 100th anniversary) were showcased. A new generation of Bugatti Lifestyle products was on display as well, including handcrafted timepieces by Jacob & Co.
After Monterrey, the Tourbillion took a spin through Southern California, cruising the streets of LA and traveling down the historic Pacific Coast Highway to Newport Beach. Then most recently, the brand-new Bugatti returned to its native France, where it spent some time at the Château de Chantilly for yet another opulent affair.
With only 250 Tourbillion models currently slated for production starting in 2026, it may be some time before the Bugatti hybrid supercar graces American shores again. Still, we’re excited to finally see it in person.
Bugatti Tourbillion Specs at a Glance

The Tourbillion is the first production Bugatti to feature the new 8.3-liter V16 engine, which replaces the hallowed W16 found in models like the Chiron and Veyron. The powertrain is rounded out by three electric motors—two at the front and one at the rear—all of which creates a combined 1,800 metric horsepower (1,775 standard horsepower for Americans).
The high-capacity battery also allows the Tourbillion to travel an estimated 37 miles purely on electric power.
Thanks to its power and aerodynamics, the company states that the Tourbillion will be capable of speeds exceeding 400 km/h, or roughly 249 miles per hour.
Thanks in part to the new partnership with Rimac, this is unlike any other Bugatti ever seen—despite sharing some subtle design cues with previous models, the Tourbillion is completely new from the tires up.
Pricing for the 2026 Bugatti Tourbillion is expected to start at 3.8 million Euros when it goes on sale. We’ll let you do the dollar conversion yourselves.
