How Does the Bugatti Gearbox Work?
A dual-clutch gearbox is an automatically operating gearbox that uses automatic hydraulic systems to open and close the two clutches and also selects individual gears. Specifically, the Bugatti Veyron is powered by a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox that is comprised of two clutches with four gears each. One of the clutches is for the even and reverse gears, and the other clutch is for the odd gears. The clutches are controlled by the actuator block, which is situated between the two clutches.
The downforce gets transmitted to the Veyron model's rear axle along the right-hand side, which is relative to the direction of travel. From there, the shaft runs to the rear axle differential between the turbochargers and engine block; then, the downforce is transmitted to the cardan shaft. The cardan shaft then transfers power to the front axle by way of the front gear box. This advanced gearbox allows you to enjoy the high-performance Bugatti models you love as you cruise down Miami highways and byways.
Where Are the Bugatti Gears Located?
The even and reverse gears (gears 2, 4 and 6) are located in the front section of the gearbox and are connected to the dual clutch via a long shaft. Meanwhile, gears 1, 3, 5 and 7 are in the rear of the gearbox.
