Bugatti Oil Change at Braman Bugatti in Miami, FL
Normally, changing a vehicle's motor oil is a quick and cheap albeit dirty job. Lift the car up. Unscrew the drain plug and replace the oil filter. Wait a few minutes. Screw the drain plug back in. Fill up with fresh engine oil. Profit.

But nothing is "normal" about a hypercar like the Bugatti Veyron. Unlike your standard vehicle, a Bugatti requires specialized oil (60w, typically), fluid, and components, as well as a very experienced set of hands. Simply put, it's not a job for the faint of heart, nor is it a task you can knock out in a few hours. Here's everything you should know about the Bugatti oil change process.

Time:

The complexity of a Bugatti fluid change cannot be overstated—this is not a DIY job in the slightest!

An oil change for a Bugatti is quite complicated indeed, as several parts must be removed in order to reach and unscrew drain plugs. Bugatti models, like the Veyron, are equipped with unique dry-sump oil systems and up to 16 individual drainage locations; draining the oil is oftentimes a job that can take several hours.

To fill up Bugatti engine oil (about 16 quarts of it) and replace the oil filter, your Bugatti mechanic must uninstall numerous exterior components, including the front grille, tires, fenders, rear decks, and all high-performance brakes. About half of the carbon fiber parts on the car (mostly the panel) are detached during this time. Delicately removing and replacing these components also takes many hours.

Overall, it's not unheard of for basic Bugatti oil service and fluid changes to take over 24 hours!

Schedule:

How often should you get your oil changed?

Because most Bugatti owners don't drive every day, routine maintenance like oil changes aren't needed as often as a regular passenger vehicle. Every exotic car is different, though it's recommended that you get your Bugatti oil changed once per year (14 months) or after 10,000 miles, at the very least.

Always refer to your owner's manual or speak with a service technician at your foreign car service center for advice. Continue to follow your Bugatti maintenance schedule in order to keep your warranty!

Cost:

Considering the amount of labor, time, and Bugatti technician training involved, a Bugatti oil change price can be several thousand dollars. Contact our Miami Bugatti service center for a more accurate estimate.
