The holidays in Miami and South Florida aren’t as chilly as the poor folks experience up North, and we’re always going to find a way to enjoy the season – snow or not.
We’re blessed to live in an area with a vast variety of entertainment options, and we’ve compiled a list of holiday-specific events in and around Miami that we think you should explore. We’re incredibly proud if you’re able to attend all these events, but you should definitely experience some of these holiday events with your family.

Best Place to See Santa Near Miami
If you have family members who are clamoring to meet the man in the big red suit, we suggest starting at an awesome event with his name splashed across the marquee: Santa’s Enchanted Forest. These fine folks are celebrating their 40th year and are offering over 100 rides, games, shows, and other attractions from November 9, 2023, to January 7th, 2024.
Santa Time is available every night near Miami at Santa’s Enchanted Forest, but there’s much more than that jolly old elf to enjoy:
There are rides specifically for the kiddies, family rides, and thrill rides in a significant quantity. You can experience the Dale Scott Magic Show, Freestyle FMX Motorcycle Show, Cirque Equinox, and more. Your family can also take advantage of a chance to Dunk Bozo, get their faces painted, interact with the Robotman, or check out the 7-D Virtual Reality Simulator.

This popup bar experience, presented by DRINK Miami, is in the heart of downtown and works to recreate the fun and energy of your mostly kindly remembered office holiday party.
From November 25th to December 23rd you’ll enjoy eccentric seasonal décor and delightful holiday-inspired cocktails. They’re open from 5 PM to 5 AM every day during this experience, but they don’t take reservations so set aside some extra time to party at 75 SE 6th Street in Miami.
An Art Deco Version of “The Nutcracker”
Single tickets are now on sale for your family’s chance to experience George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker live and in person.
You’ll thrill as the Miami City Ballet transports you to a wintry wonderland despite the distinct lack of snow in South Florida. More than 100 amazing dancers will bring this cherished ballet to life complete with a soundtrack by Tchaikovsky, costumes that stir the imagination, and distinct set pieces that will dazzle the senses.
The performances are from December 15 – 24, 2023 at the Ziff Ballet Opera House. You’ll be awestruck for 2 hours, and this event is suitable for those ages 4 and up. Watch out for The Mouse King!
Looking for Pure Relaxation at a Miami Christmas Festival?
The Deering Estate delightedly invites you to a fantastical soiree in their Alice and Wonderland-themed holiday wonderland.
Join them for the sixth-annual Mistletoe & Martinis from 7:30 PM – 11 PM on Friday, December 8th, 2023 for the chance to nosh on lavish hors d’oeuvres, partake of a delicious martini or two, treat your ears with a variety of live music performance, select your favorite exquisite sweets, and be entertained by the whimsical and fantastical transformation of the historic houses on the estate.

Light Up The Night at a Fantastical Christmas Event for Kids
It gets dark too early this time of year, even in the Magic City, but the team at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden has what you need to have a great family holiday event near Miami: the NightGarden!
This spectacular light show transports visitors to a magical fairyland illuminated with thousands of lights spread across the Garden’s 23 acres. Your family will experience technicolor flowers, twelve experience stations (which include five brand new experience zones), augmented reality through the FairyScope app, unique sculptures, a chance to speak with a wise old tree, partake in a FairQuest, and more.
Everyone can take advantage of the food trucks on-site, and the older elves can also help themselves to some adult beverages. The NightGarden is a perfect all-ages holiday event around Miami and is wheelchair accessible
The Most Wonderful Tour of the Year?
How many “tonix” can you handle on a holiday evening? How about Pentatonix? If you’re in the mood for beautiful a cappella music as a mid-month December treat, get your tickets now for Pentatonix: The Most Wonderful Tour of the Year!
This world-famous quintet – consisting of Scott, Mitch, Kirstin, Kevin, and Matt – is touring in support of their seventh holiday album “The Greatest Christmas Hits” and will be at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino at 8:00 PM on Thursday, December 14th, 2023.
The album is full of holiday favorites including O Holy Night, 12 Days of Christmas, Hallelujah, Little Drummer Boy, and O Come, All Ye Faithful, but also includes covers of songs by Fleet Foxes, Meghan Trainor, Kelly Clarkson, Seal, and more!
